Sustainable Cooking in Developing Countries
IET – International Energy Transition GmbH and E3 Analytics developed a comprehensive report evaluating the potential opportunities and innovative technologies to transition away from the reliance on wood and charcoal and to meet cooking needs in developing countries around the world. In some parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, wood and charcoal used for cooking purposes represent over 90% of the national energy mix. This report provides an analysis of four promising pathways to reduce said reliance, each one with a focus either on solar home systems, mini-grids, distributed biogas systems, or power-to-gas technologies.
