Net Metering design for Residential Customers in Malaysia

IET – International Energy Transition GmbH advised policymakers in Malaysia on the implementation of net metering for residential self-consumption. The project consisted of an analysis of the existing framework conditions in Malaysia (FIT policy, installed PV costs, retail rates), the identification and presentation of international best practice design, and recommendations for detailed implementation. The preliminary findings were presented at a high level PV conference in Malaysia. The project was commissioned by the Malaysian Sustainable Energy Development Agency (SEDA) and financed by the Clean Energy Solution Center.
