Co-Benefit assessment of biomass deployment in Indonesia
IET – International Energy Transition GmbH co-authored a report on biomass deployment in Indonesia and its effects on socio-economic benefits. Based on official government targets for the deployment of biomass in the electricity sector, these co-benefits were assessed and quantified when possible. This included job creation effects, improving energy security and reducing import costs for fossil fuels, national value creation in the manufacturing sector, industrial development and rural development. The draft results were presented and discussed at a workshop with key ministries. The project was commissioned by GIZ Indonesia as part of the IKI project “Promotion of Least Cost Renewables in Indonesia (LCORE-INDO)”.
