Electricity Markets with High Shares of Variable Renewable Energy Sources (Germany)

IET – International Energy Transition GmbH supported the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) with the implementation of the electricity market law “2.0” (EnWG). Dr. David Jacobs was the project lead in a large consortium of consulting firms. The project included an analysis of all stakeholder positions regarding proposals for the future electricity market design (Greenbook and Whitebook). In addition, advice was given regarding the integration of increasing shares of variable renewable energy technologies.
