IRENA training for policy makers in ECOWAS countries

Dr. David Jacobs co-conducted a one week IRENA training workshop for policy makers, regulators and public utilities from five ECOWAS countries (Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal). The workshop covered various aspects of renewable energy policies, including feed-in tariffs, renewable portfolio standards, fiscal policies, net metering, risk for project finance, PPA and IPP design and rural electrification and energy access strategies. The workshop also included in-depth sessions on Excel Spreadsheet-based financial modelling, including tariff calculation and tariff setting for RE projects. The training workshop took place in Accra, Ghana, and was led by Renewable Energy Academy (RENAC).
