Industrial Self-Consumption in Tunisia
IET – International Energy Transition GmbH advised the cement sector in Tunisia on opportunities for industrial-scale self-consumption based on renewable energy sources. Dr. Jacobs provided the representatives of the cement industry with advice that drew on international best practice for self-consumption policies. He furthermore analysed and commented on draft legislation. The project also included an in-depth analysis of the renewable energy framework in Morocco, focusing on wind energy usage in the cement sector. The project was commissioned by the GIZ and its Tunisian partner ANME as part of a three year project on carbon emission reductions in the Tunisian cement industry. The project was financed by the Germany Ministry of Environment (BMUB) and the European Commission.
