Feed-in tariff design for Saudi Arabia

Dr. Jacobs was heading an international team of consultant in a project that supported the development of a policy framework for the promotion of renewable electricity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project consisted in designing two competitive procurement rounds and a full scale feed-in tariff mechanism. Dr. Jacobs advised on tariff setting, and provided a detailed evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of different support mechanisms, as well as their impacts on the existing electricity grid and on future grid expansion planning. The project was executed by Dr. Jacobs as director “Renewable Energy” at the consulting firm IFOK.
